Women Workers Forum Hosts Stress Management Training in Benin
BENIN CITY – The Women Workers Forum successfully hosted an impactful physical training session focused on “Stress Management and Burnout” on April 4, 2025, in Benin City.
The program provided a vital platform for women workers and volunteers to gain valuable insights and practical strategies for enhancing their emotional wellbeing.
With support from Global Alliance Against Trafficking in Women (GAATW), Women Workers Forum, a project implemented by Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Benin Center, is an initiative dedicated to supporting and empowering women workers through various programs and resources. The forum aims to address the specific challenges faced by women in the workforce and promote their overall wellbeing and professional development.
The workshop addressed the critical need for understanding and managing the increasing pressures faced by women in both their professional and personal lives. Participants engaged in an insightful session that clearly differentiated between stress and burnout, enabling them to identify common symptoms in themselves and others.
Key themes explored during the training included:
Recognizing early warning signs of stress.
Understanding the significant role of perception in effectively managing pressure.
Learning and practicing simple yet effective techniques for self-care and recovery.
The interactive nature of the forum allowed attendees to share their personal experiences and engage in open discussions about the unique challenges women encounter in striving for a healthy work-life balance, particularly within emotionally demanding roles.
The successful training session underscored the pressing need for continued community-based mental health education initiatives and the importance of organizational support systems that prioritize the overall wellbeing of women.
