WALKING TO END TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS: 2022 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons
Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) in collaboration with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP) held a rally to mark this year’s Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30th with the theme “Use and Abuse of Technology", in Benin.The rally, with support from European Union and Expertise France under Stop trafficking! Prevention and Protection of Young Persons, Women and Girls Vulnerable to or Survivors of Trafficking project, started at NAPTIP Zonal Command office in Benin City passing through major roads within Benin metropolis terminating at the Museum Ground, King Square.
During the rally, members of the public were enlightened on the dangers of trafficking and how traffickers are now using technology, especially social media platforms to deceive our young girls into trafficking them.
