The skills training department organized a 3 day computer skills training workshop for GPI centre girls on 10th – 12th Dec. 2007.  The participants paid a token of five hundred Naira each while GPI paid the balance of what was budgeted for the training. The participants were taught the components of the computer, the practical use of the components as well as getting knowledge on the internet and how to open emails. On the last day of the training, the participants were taken to a cybercafe to put into practise what they learnt by opening personal e-mails.

At the end of the training, the participants wished for a trainings on catering (e.g baking, salads, snacks), beads-making, fashion designing hat-making and skills to qualify them to participate in the television program. “A ride with Gpi” it was a successful training as the participants promised to use the new skills to play games, check WAEC results using scratch card, visit websites, browse etc.
